Well.... my feet are staying planted in lower Fairfield County to continue serving our CT, NY & NJ clients, BUT..... the blog is hitting the road!

I LOVE Michael Buble.... ( Nicole Taylor Photography | a Wanna Be Concert Photographer }

Go ahead, make fun of me. A girl my age has a school girl crush on a celebrity singer. Sure I've loved Michael Buble for a few years now, but never really quit appreciated him to the fullest extent of his talent.
But after seeing him live at Madison Square Garden this weekend..... I have a new found deeper love for his music and him as an entertainer. He just makes you FEEL what he sings, he puts his heart and soul into those vocals and you can just see the little flying hearts as they flutter around him like an animation. ROMACE people... the man screams ROMANCE!
AND... let me add, not only is he a VERY talented musician, but he would make one heck of a comedian as well. He's an entertainer of the truest sense. And shoot me down as maybe I feel this way being from the "younger Generation" but I'm partial to him over Ol' Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. May he RIP but I am BUBBLY for Buble. ( laughing at myself for even typing that ) .
I hope I have the opportunity to see him again, I hope I'm able to get floor seats. I wish MORE THEN ANYTHING that I could take my own camera into the concert with me instead of a crappy little point and shoot ( sorry Alicia... it's not THAT crappy, it served it's purpose... I'm just sayin' ) ... and I wish my girl friend ALicia wouldn't have been sick and stuck in our hotel room , so that she could have enjoyed this concert with me. Here's hoping to next time Alicia!

and a HUGE THANK YOU to my AWESOME Husband who didn't blink an eye when I said I was going to Manhattan over night to see Michael Buble. He's the best! LOVE YOU MORE then M.B & T.M ( that would be Tim Mcgraw ) . ;-)

Angela & Nick | A White Wedding at Cortlandt Colonial - Westchester Wedding Photographer

Whenever I think of Angela and Nicks wedding it's always going to be associated with either Billy Idols "White Wedding" and maybe a little of Murphy's Law , which states " Anything that CAN go wrong, WILL go wrong."
I have to laugh though, because if you knew the story leading up to this wedding, you would know it holds true. All in good humor now though.

I'd like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to Mother Nature though for dropping 3 feet of snow on us the day before. It made for a BEAUTIFUL drive up and a GORGEOUS backdrop and it didn't damper the excitement and anticipation for Angela. Also a Thank you to the guys at Cortlandt Colonial who really put their backs into it, to shovel space for us to take pictures. ( you try talking a bunch of brides maids in open toed heals to walk in the snow. lol ) You're the best!

Congratulations Nick and Angela! ! ! !

I photographed Amandas first Maternity session almost 2 years ago. It's funny to see how much my style has changed since then. This time she knew she was in for some possibly crazy requests and was a very willing participant!

A Birth Story | Greenwich Hospital - Greenwich Birth Photographer

A Birth is one of the greatest moments I love to capture. The anticipation, the excitement, for some it's their first child , for others it's their first boy, girl or multiples. There is so much emotion that comes with this moment ..... it's truly PRICELESS.

So how exciting it was for me to have the opportunity to capture the birth of Ali and Joes new baby.

I got the call at midnight that they were heading to the hospital. At 3 am my phone rang again jolting me out of a sleep that apparently occurred wile watching Jimmy Fallons Late night show.... don't ask . Joe informs me that Allie was fully dilated and they were getting ready to have the baby!
" WHAT?! That was quick! What happened to calling me back at 5 cm's? ! " was my reaction as I jumped off the couch and started gathering up my gear. Lucky for me all the surrounding hospitals are easy for me to get to. So off I went.....

As luck would have it I happened to arrive just a few minutes before all the action started ! WHEW! Good thing because I would have been soooo upset had I missed the opportunity of capturing Joes TOUCHDOWN reaction when he heard the words..

" IT's A BOY ! " .

At 3:39 am I think all of Greenwich Hospital was awake with us at the sound of Joes excitement. Yeah...I kick myself for not flipping the switch to video for that. lol

So introducing little Joseph and his first moments of life.

How often can a person move 6 hours away and meet someone from the very same area that you grew up in. Well that was the case with this session.Bill and I are from the same home town. Funny thing is we didn't know each other until recently by chance. I was connected with this amazing hairstylist through a mutual friend... yes Bill is a hairstylist and he ROCKS at what he does. And honestly I wouldn't say he's a stylist, I consider him a hair artist. So if you are in the New Haven area and looking for amazing hands to grace your mane... Definitely check out Bill Shrlau and make an appointment with him .

Anyway..... back to why we are here..... Liam, Bill and Wendy ! :-)
It turned out to be a bit of a colder day then we had anticipated so we started out taking some shots of Liam in my studio before heading out and grabbing a couple shots of Bill and Wendy. People are always having pictures of their children taken... but don't let your wedding day be the last time you have pictures of you and your spouse taken together. Now look at them... aren't they so stinkin' CUTE!

A real quick peak of Baby "A" ... a full post will follow, but Let me start out by saying that I walked in to the home of this family and was greeted by the cutest 3 year old boy with the biggest brownest eyes and a beautiful full head of hair.
A head of hair that Mr. Clean would totally be jealous about , in fact, even I'm a little jealous and I have my own head of THICK hair.
So it was no surprise, ok , well... yes it actually was, when I walked into the room where little Alexandra was cuddled up in her swing and saw the tiniest head LOADED with BEAUTIFUL SILKY black hair. Heartburn much?!? Ok... so that's an old wives tale, but WOW! I have seriously never seen a newborn with so much hair ! ! ! !I was loving it and could tell that she totally got it from her mother .

Maybe I'm just too stuck on the idea that since my kids were bald for their 1st year of life , everyones should be.
Of course I'm slightly kidding there.... but let me keep you waiting no more and introduce you to the cutest little bundle
of mushiness....

Alright... well I just can't help myself now. I just did this fabulous newborn shoot yesterday and it's killing me to not share them with anyone. SOOOOOO since I make my own rules, I figured I could bend one ... just a little.
Normally I wait until after my families view their galleries before I post any images to blog, but Hudsons session just rocked so much with gushiness, cute cheeks, chubby fingers and pouty lips that I HAD to post just one. ( Of course the best ones are waiting for his Momma to view first ) ;-) sorry......

Wouldn't it be my luck! YES IT WOULD Actually as my luck has been pretty darn good the past month or so ( ok, a couple slight exceptions, but nothing anybody can't work through) .
Old Man winter knew that I was DYING for a foot of snow for my upcoming shoot with Selma and I got it. Although I'm not sure she was hoping for the same.

Selma was the winner from my November, "What are you Thankful for" contest and was so excited when she found out she had won! ! Just shows that sometimes being last can pay off.

The day was just PERFECT , ESPECIALLY for a Christmas Eve shoot. ( Was there a chance for a Christmas Day baby?) possibly, but I'm pushing for a New Years one! HOLD OUT SELMA!!! HOLD OUT!

She was just AWESOME to work with! Any suggestions that I had she was willing to be my victim..... I mean ..... willing participant! :-)

A Good deed done ...... what was yours?

Living in the city where I live , and being so close to Manhattan, I spend a lot of time in areas that have a high homeless population. To see someone pushing a cart that they live out of full of "goodies and necessities" can be a daily occurrence.
I always feel for these people, and quit often feel guilty that I can't help them out. Sometimes I wonder what circumstance took them to living this kind of life style. But then I quickly change my thinking process because when I ponder things like that, it tends to bring me down.
If that was someone in my family surely they would NEVER find themselves living on the streets like that. WHere is theirs? Why aren't they helping to take care of them.
Maybe I'm naive .....

but it doesn't keep me from being compassionate.

My youngest son, Caron, and I have been spending a lot of time at the post office over the last few weeks. Shipping Holiday orders, mailing cards ect... Each time we are there , we always see this same little old man. A face with lines that tell stories of his life, thin torn navy blue jacket with a company logo, a knitted hat that looks loved and mittens that certainly have had their work cut out for them. He sits in the same little corner on a bench and rarely says a word, just smiles. My son adores him, and never hesitates to give him an eager waive and smile as he says "HIIIII! " . The man just beams , like first morning light, as he smiles , laughs and says Hi back. I believe that him and Carson have this unspoken bond.

I enjoy seeing him. Though words aren't often exchanged other then the occasional hello and smile, something about him brings me peace.

Knowing today we would see him one last time before the holidays, Carson and I made a quick stop. As we walked in, we saw our little old friend sitting in the spot he always sits in. As he looked up , Carson gave his usual waive and smile. We walked over and I handed him a little envelope. He looked at us a little confused and I simply said, "this is for your smile. " He opened the envelope and inside was the gift certificate to a little donut shop. We took a risk, as you never know how someone would react to such a gift. But I certainly didn't want him thinking it was charity, I wanted him to know that he was appreciated . He never lost his smile, actually I'm not quit sure he knew what to say, as he said Thank you about three times.

I certainly cannot assume he is homeless, just because of the way he is dressed, so I won't, but maybe one day I'll know his story. ... For today.... I learned his name....

Me .... Thankful?!
You bet I am. In every possible way..... from the air that I breath, to every sunrise and sunset, to every "friend" I meet on my journeys.
Thankful for all the hugs and kisses, for my husbands smile that still makes my heart skip beats 12 years later, my children ( attitude, dirty diapers and all ) , even the man that ran over my foot with the grocery cart today ,, yes.. I'm even thankful for him, his apologetic smile made my day.
I can't quit possibly name everything, but just know, that no matter what it is, good... bad... ugly.... it's what got me to where I am today , in this moment , personally and professionally.

Nothing is better then watching a baby change so much in it's first year of life.. That is what makes my " Baby Stages" package so perfect. Not just for my clients, but for me as well, as I get to enjoy each precious stage of a baby developing into toddlerhood . TO be able to look back and smile , thankful, grateful to have been welcomed into a families life and be able to capture those early days up until this last moment and beyond.
The first time I saw Baby "D' was at his mothers Shrimant ( Indian Traditional Baby shower) , and he wasn't even born yet. Then I was overjoyed when his parents came to me again, askign that I capture his first year of life. Thus it began at his 3 month session. Quite a change in such a short period of time. At 6 months old he's actually excited and happy to see me..... and laughing with me :-) ! ! ! ! The best audience a person could ask for when you're singing silly songs and making corny faces. .... I just can't wait for his 9 month shoot.

Family Picture weekend ! ! ! Yesterday I did a post on Baby "L" and her siblings, well today I will do one on her cousins "M" & "L" who I had the opportunity to do a mini session for yesterday.
I've photographed M a few times and be as it may though , as "L" is only 6 months old, he's already been in my portfolio a few times as well. I was there to witness and capture his first breath when he was born. To see him becoming such a clone of his big brother has been nothing short of a blessing. I LOVE this family!

Thank you Alicia and MIchael for inviting me to capture some of the most intimate times in your lives as a family!
Words can't express how appreciative and how wonderful it has been to have these times to get to know you and see your boys grow.

ALright, well yes, I'm a bit lagging on my blog. Between a hectic season over the past few months, moving within the last month and crossing over from PC to MAC in the past 2 weeks ( a move I'm still deciding was worth it or not , but have to admit... the 27" screen IS SWEET! ) I've fallen a BIT behind on the blog updates and facebook updates. SO my apologies to everyone that follows one or both.
With wedding season slowing down, I assure you I will be working my way backwards on my blog so nothing is left out. ;-)

Starting with yesterdays session with some sibling love. This was more of a session with Baby "L" but we still had to take some shots of her with her brother and sister. A little brisk outside but soo beautiful for a week before Thanksgiving, so despite her mom wanting fairy pictures of her indoors, we opted for some cute outdoor shots also. How perfect to use with the holiday card templates I am offering to my clients this year.

We have been Elved!

So yes from time to time I jump the gun in the spirit of the holidays . I can't help myself because this Elf Yourself program always cracks me up. Not to mention there is nothing greater then hearing the laughter of my two boys upon watching themselves dancing around in elf costumes and wondering how daddy knew how to do a cart wheel.

We had a great laugh with this one and probably wore it out after the boys kept laughing to us to play it again!

The Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park has to be one of the most beautiful places for a wedding. I had the best time photographing Emma and Chris's with Eric Langlois of Raw Photo Design at this very location. It was by far one of the best weddings I've had the pleasure of capturing.

WHOA..... time has been slipping ! : Nicole Taylor- Connecticut Photographer

It has been ONE Crazy month! I have so much to blog about! Between my baby starting kindergarten, weddings, the Western NY sessions, the October mini Sessions ( October 18th by the way ) , our travels , recent sessions and fundraisers! I don't even know where to begin! ha ha

I can say for sure though that my FAVORITE Season has arrived and I'm just bouncing off the walls ! Everything couldn't be more perfect right now !

and to break in to my blog fest that's going to be taking place over the next couple of days...

Contrary to popular belief I did not cry, well... ok, so the tears ran a little as I envisioned myself grabbing on to the bumper and smoke coming from my heels but I did better then most. I certainly wasn't the mother that got on the bus and rode it all the way to school witht heir child, not being able to let go. Oh no.... I was looking forward to the BREAK! My youngest however, did have a hard time adjusting without his big brother around as he walked around the house yelling for Christian followed by a "Where arrrrrrrrrrrreeee youuuuuuuuuuuu?" ! Sigh...... yeah it's a little wierd not having the both of them around during the day!

These are some of the Faces from my Flashes of Hope Shoot in Pennsylvania that was sponsored by The Valerie Fund .

"B" is a quiet , reserved little girl.
But when she smiles....... she just radiates joy.

"D" ... my man. a VERY serious kid who made me work to get him to smile!
I did get a couple of him smiling, but I chose this image of him because I felt it represented him well. He's fierce and determined! AND he has A LOT of musical talent.... do you know he plays 4 instruments! ! ! You do now.
I KNOW we'll be seeing him coming out of Juliard!

I chose this image of "A" , because when I suggested we go see the horse, I watched his face brighten and a smile come across. Something about that horse that just seemed to calm him ... we had a bonding moment, "A" , the horse and I.

"D" was another quiet and shy one who's smile could just brighten any dreary day!

"S" ! ! ! "S" shocked me.... by telling me he was a Yankees AND a Red Sox fan. We still managed to get along as he promised to only lOVE the Yankees while we hung out. ;-)

"K" ....Miss Diva herself. OMG she had me rolling. Her jokes, her funny faces and she did not hesitate to tell me what pose I knew she wanted to do. LOL
She's a pure blood entertainer. I'm first in line for tickets to her show.

Last ... but not least........ this is "C" .
He is an ex camper turned counslor. I found majority of the counslors there were actually ex campers. Tell me that doesn't give you the warm and fuzzies knowing that so many of them give back to a place that gave them hope.
Now "C" here..... this man... every time he smiled his eyes would disappear. I photograph a lot of people and it can be tough to get someone to smile a natural smile. I couldn't get "C" to stop. I needed a serious face.... and Apparantly I said something pretty darn funny because he couldn't stop laughing at me. lol I just love this series of him. It's his true self.

Many times in our lives someone in our path is affected with cancer or a life threatening illness. It doesn't matter what race we are, what sex we are , how old we are .... It does not discriminate.
I recently had the priviledge of spending some time with an amazing group of children and camp counslors at Camp Happy Times in Pennsylvania. Courtesy of The Valerie Fund they had contacted Flashes of Hope, an organization I volunteer for, to have us come in and provide photography services for the children attending their camp this year.
Flashes of Hope is a non profit organization who's goal is to provide uplifting portraits to the families of these children fighting cancer or other life threatening illnesses.
I met up the the eve of our shoot with 6 other photographers and had dinner in a nearby "ghost town". After dinner the 4 of us staying at the camp decided to walk around the " one car ghost town" and snap some pictures.
Those of us who were brave enough to stay at the camp were awoken at 7 am by the traditional blow of the bugle horn. I was LOVING every minute of it. NO 2 year old bouncing on my face , just fresh crisp morning air and the melodic sounds of the bugle notes making their way through my window as if to scream..... "You're two year old may not be hear to body slam you but you're not sleeping in on my watch."
*sigh*

We met at the flag pole for the morning ceremonies and proceeded to the mess hall for breakfast. From there we went on to our designated areas where we were going to be greeting our groups of children as they bagan their days activities.

The morning Flag ceremonies! Camp Happy Times is celebrating their 25th year! ! !

Every morning after the flag ceremonies, they would gather around and sing a morning song. This days choice was " Love Can Build a Bridge"! In all seriousness... I had tears in my eyes as everyone sang and I watched two women beside me sign it to a little girl that was hearing impared.

Every time I hear this song, I will think of this day.

ahhhhhhhh this was my girl. SWEET as could be. I REALLY wanted to saddle her and ride.... but I think they hid the saddle on me.

This was her keeper. I just LOVE this shot....... don't ask me why. I just do.

Of course on my way to camp I realized I was driving through Bethel , NY ! ! !
THAT'S THE HOME OF WOODSTOCK ! ! ! ! Woodstuck just celebrated it's 40th Anniversary... you KNOW I'm going searching for that field. So after our day of shooting 5 of us drove and found it....I could just FEEL the energy from that event as we pulled up and could see the field. Something about it.. the whole "Peace and Love " thing. It gets me. I know I was a hippy in my past life. I won't deny it. lol

We couldn't have had a more perfect bright sunny humid day to play in. lol But for such a hot hot morning the girls were fantastic! This rockin' wedding & reception took place at the Merchant Marine Military Academy in Kings Point, NY. Everything about this wedding was perfect, the colors , the details , the view, the bride , groom , the natural lighting in the Chapel , right down to the last coffee bean on each table.

How could one not enjoy shooting this?

The traffic jam on the Cross Island for 2 hours... was WELL WORTH IT! ;-)

I was given the opportunity to be a part of the very first, Raw Photo Design Workshop hosted by Eric Langlois.

Can I just simply say.... IT ROCKED!

I've been shooting with Eric for a while now and he never ceases to amaze me with the next new thing he tries.
So it wasn't surprising when the workshop was put together by him and his wife Amber, in true RAW fashion style. Artistic floral designs were done for us by Datura and some of their creations were mind blowing. A beautiful Anne Barge dress leant to our beautiful model, "Mrs. Raw" by The White Dress by the Shore and a top notch location to boot, the Winvian .
It was nothing short of a fun , artistic and informative!

Little did they know way back when that changes in both of their lives would bring them back together years later resulting in a very intimate affair at a waterfront park in downtown Essex. So I'm out in Western NY visiting some old friends and family and This year I started offering photo sessions on my visits. It's been giving me the opportunity to continue what I enjoy doing while on vacation and still not feel like I'm working! :-)

Jen is an old high school friend of mine and the last time I saw Zach was when he was a baby and I moved away. Now here he is the great age of 15 ! I had the best day with my oldest son yesterday! Having watched the weather channel and seeing it was our only chance for a nice day this week, I decided to take him to Buttonwood Farm for ice cream and to visit the ACRES of sunflower fields they had. This was something I had been planning to do but was holding out for their Sunflowers For Wishes to benefit the Make - A - Wish Foundation . Sunflowers for Wishes runs from July 18 - July 26th ( possibly extending it due to the weather ). I STRONGLY Encourage anyone who can visit to do so. ALL PROCEEDS benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Unfortunatly with all the rain we've been hammered with this summer in New England, it has caused a slight delay in the blooming season of the sunflowers. So we missed out on full bloom this year BUT.. for those who havn't been yet... your chance is around the corner. Full Bloom only lasts about 2 weeks. Check out Buttonwoods website as they have constant updates ....

I didn't get to walk away with a arm full of bouquets of sunflowers , BUT I did get to take a nice hay ride with my son as we got to visually explore the farm. The fields of cows, the pigs rolling in the mud, the oversized "marshmellos " ( as my son calls the big round bails of hay that have been white bagged ) , the delicious ice cream and the blue skies that nestle on top of the miles of stone walls that line the property. I'm really looking forward to it next year!

Sandy Puc is one of the Co-founders for NILMDTS ( Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep ) and this past week on their trip to China they had been quarantined because someone on her flight had contracted the H1V1 virus.
Recetly she sent out a message to her friends from Sams World as an update, but also to inform us about a fundraiser that she is doing in support of the Chinese Adoption agencies. If you are an artist or a graphic designer, consider helping to raise money on her endeavor by purchasing her new brush and texture series.

Hello Everyone,

As many of you already know, the Chinese government quarantined us on our trip to China. Someone on our plane had a diagnosed case of H1V1 and so they rounded up everyone that was sitting within 20 rows of that person. We were picked up less than 24 hours after our arrival and were taken about 1.5 hours away to a quarantine hotel. I was separated from my 15-year old son, but was able to argue an keep my 16-year-old daughter with me. It has been a very frustrating and difficult week for the kids and myself. We are not able to leave our rooms and the conditions are less than acceptable. We have been eaten alive by mosquitoes, it took 2 days to get food that we could eat, we have mice all over the room and the water that comes out of the sink and shower is brown.

All of this said we have had a very special week as well. We have created ways to entertain ourselves, we have found humor in the most unbearable conditions and we have become closer than we ever have been. To explain all that we have felt and gone through would be impossible, but I wanted those of you that have been following the story on facebook to know that your letters, PMs and words have been the highlight of my day. I have had a few times where I could not hold back the tears, and just hearing from you all made me feel closer to home. Thank you all for the bottom of my heart. Words can never really explain my gratitude but I needed to say it anyway.

Part of the reason we came to China was to shoot my daughters senior pictures. The plan was the Great Wall, not to be surrounded by four small walls!! But, in spite of that, yesterday we shot the “Quarantine Series” and we had a great time doing it.
It really pushed my mind, as I had neither reflector nor any decent lighting to work with. We laughed as we tried to sneak in the hall for a few extra shots. The other Americans watched for guards and we played around a bit. There are security cameras in the hall so it was not long before the guards came running. We all bounced into our rooms just in time. Our punishment was that a guard stood directly outside our door (with the door open) and stared at us. It was so bizarre and yet we found it funny too. I think these poor people do not know what to do with the crazy American on the third floor. We have pushed our limits a bit, but believe me we are aware that they have the ultimate control.

The other project I started to occupy my time was the Quarantine Grunge brush and texture collection. I can honestly say this is the grungiest collection ever! I know because I have been living in it. We have decided to create a collection that will raise money to help a Chinese adoption agency. I cannot say that this is the best collection of brushes we have ever created, but they are VERY authentic. We are having a good time playing with them and we hope you will too.

They will be available tomorrow at 12:00. You can find them at
Sams World University in the shopping cart area. They will be available for only $20.00. (Again we will donate all of the money to a Chinese charity)

Although this situation has been a difficult and frustrating ordeal, I want everyone to know that I do not blame anyone. Not the Chinese government, the Chinese people or even our guards. This is just a crazy unfortunate situation and it is difficult or everyone involved. China is and will remain my favorite country in the world. The people are so beautiful and their spirit of endurance is beyond anything I have ever seen.

I am hoping that you will help me reach my goal of $2500.00 to be donated to a worthy Chinese charity. This means we will need to sell over 125 templates to do so. If you are on a forum, a photography group etc. please share this effort with your fellow photography friends. I know that times are still tough, and if you cannot purchase the brushes right now, please contact me and we will give them to you. They were created in the spirit of fun and I would love for them to be used by all.

I am so humbled that I have been giving this experience. I can assure you it has brought me closer to my family, my Father in Heaven and to my many friends around the world. I have so much gratitude today for my many blessings I have and I consider each of you a part of those too.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh The old Candy Bar ! ! ! Talk about being a kid in a candy store. This table was loaded with jars of different kinds of candies for their guests to take home with them. NICE!!!!

I recently had the opportunity to shoot a wedding with David Apuzzo. While I shot the church ceremony on a Monday evening, we both had the pleasure of capturing their beach service the following weekend at Light House Point in NEw Haven, CT. The reception followed at The Carousel House . Between the dancing and the carousel rides... it was an experience that takes you back to being a child.
Congratulations Michael and Danielle! It truly was a beautiful wedding!

Chris & Sally - Wedding at The Washington Club

Every so often I get the chance to work with an amazing Photographer, and this was no exception. I love these opportunities and when Eric Langlois of Raw Photo Design asked me to 2nd shoot this wedding with him and his wife Amber , I couldn't say no! ;-)

Sally and Chris are such a cute couple. Sally , the spitting image of Gwenyth Paltrow had the most radient smile. They held their beautiful ceremony at the Kent School Church , and their reception followed at The Washington Club in Washington, CT. a Beautiful wedding for a BEAUTIFUL couple.

Lindsey and Carl in South Norwalk - Connecticut Photographer

First off, I have to say that Lindsey is my sister in law... and I couldn't have asked for a sweeter one. She just has this bubbly personality and an amazing disposition about her. This is one girl that when she walks into a room it just lights up....
To have watched her grow over the last FEW years from a chatty little teenager to a beautiful bright young woman in her 20's ( see if I give her age, then you'll get an idea about mine...and I'm not going to do that...lol )... has been a joy.
Carl.......... well..... he is one of our finest men in blue. He has a fun loving, witty personality outside of his intimidating militant stance. ( lol ) A perfect match for Lindsey! Not to mention....... hes a ROCKIN' cook!
Anyway..... trying to avoid all the mushiness..... on to the highlights of the day.
We met on the water in South Norwalk at Vets Park. It turned out to be a bit of a blustery day w/ a tad of chill in the air, but we survived. Something you'd expect in April, certainly not the end of May.
We then made our way through South Norwalk, where we snapped some pictures in the window of Ocean Drive and then moved on to a cute Cafe for a lunch break. It was here that I caught some intimate moments of them in conversation and just being themselves. We then called it a day after our food arrived and headed back to the cars but not before stopping off at the docks for a couple more shots.
Sorry Lindsey that you missd your trip to the dump... but I certainly hope that your pictures were worth it. xoxo

Trishas Bridal Session - CT Photographer

I was sitting in Trishas chair getting my hair done talking to her about her wedding. She had just gotten married and it turned out to be cold rainy day in the hills of Portugal!
Being that she has been my hairdresser for a few years and always does a fantastic job... and even manages to squeeze me in for my "last minute" apointments! Yes ladies...I am one of THOSE kind of hair clients, I offered to do a Trash the Dress session with her. Immediatly I was informed there was no way she was trashing her wedding dress......lol. Well... we weren't necessarily going to destroy it...

What fun it was to be able to do a bridal shoot for her on a BEAUTIFUL sunny day with bright blue skys and skimming white clouds!
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Boys in daycare, husband at work, Trishas salon closed for the day... what is normally a 2-3 hour session, turned into a full day affair! I think we shot in every nook and crany of this park, shot in every doorway, walked on every piece of grass, climbed every tree, ran through every field, layed and stood on every boulder, shoes on , shoes off, hair up, hair down.... for someone that was so adiment on keeping her dress clean and not ruin it... she certainly had NO PROBLEM climbing trees. lol
We played and we had no concept of time...... nor the fact that neither of us thought to bring food or drink with us too. The car ride home was a quiet one needless to say! lol

Promo Shoot part 1

I met this woman, Jennifer, through my neighbor who hand sews the CUTEST little girl dresses. She even makes an American Girl sized doll dress to match it.
Now I don't have any little girls..... but found her little boy rompers to be quit adorable too!
We recently did a promo shoot for her website, Hand Made By Jennifer and are doing the 2nd portion of it later this week!

The Trip Home !

Recently my boys and I took a trip home to western NY to visit my family!
Since I had so many people say they wish I lived closer so I could take pictures of their families I decided to put a day aside and dedicate it to photo sessions . I thought it would be nice to offer up my style and my services and give people an option other then just K-Mart's portrait studio, even if just for a day.
Well it turns out that the results created a demand and I will actually be taking the trip home more often to be able to offer more people my time. I don't mind! My boys had so much fun seeing their Grandparents, Uncles, cousins and friends that my oldest told me he wanted to stay there " FOREVER!" lol
So it looks like I will be returning home in July and the end of September for more sessions! You hear that Maddie.... Christian and Carson are coming back for another visit! :-)

J-dee in Spring...

I always love it when I get to photograph clients children over and over again. I get to see them grow and how their personalities have developed. It's only been almost 5 months since I last photographed J-Dee, but she is now a full fledged two year old. ( Did I mention she shares her birthday with my little one ). Back then she wasn't having a full conversation with you and was really just starting to learn her pageant poses..... " "dimples " . Her mom Lilly is a Pagent Coach for all ages and of course J-dee gets first hand lessons.
We shot at Hubbard Park in Meriden, where they were setting up for this years Daffodile Festival.
J-dee , after a bit of warming up, has this bounce walk that she does as she proceeds to march around me in circles , swinging her arms and singing OH... OH OH OH... OH... OH OHHHHHHHH OH! { " Poker Face" by Lady Gaga} . lol
It was a long shoot..... a shoot of Puddle jumping, daffodile sniffing, rock skipping, bubble blowing and wagon riding and yes....... we even had our meltdowns ( see slideshow... lol ) . A shoot of fun.

ALEXIS was born ! ! Congratulations Melissa ! Bless your heart and your husband was awesome in keeping me posted. ALL worth it I'd say!
There's nothing like photographing a newborn baby... so innocent. So Sweet. So Cuddely. and soooo sleepy. Oh wait.. did I just say Sleepy? Not Alexis, this little girl wanted to be awake the entire session. She had me cracking up as her eyes would get heavy and then the slightest movement she would whip them back open. She did NOT want to miss a thing. Melissa did manage to get her to sleep for a little bit while she held her.... which did help me get one of her cutest shots.

Confessions of a BLOG SLACKER

I admit it........... I'm a blog slacker.
Seriously ! What can I say.... I know we are in the times of " THE WEB" but how many networking sites do I seriously need to keep up with! ?
If only I had someone just to handle THAT side of the business ( wonder how fast my 5 year old can learn to type? ) ....... any volunteers ? !? !
Anyway, this past week I was pretty busy prepping for our local merchant Gala, Bethel Blooms. My first display table ! ! ! It was a lot of fun , despite the stress of trying to put it together in under 2 weeks. Lots of Sun on Day 1 with the threat of rain on Day 2. both days were PERFECT! Courtesy of mother nature's son Mr. WIND , who just wasn't liking my set up, I ended up tying my canvases to a tree with the help of a couple wonderful ladies from the Homecare Daycare Table. If you're looking for homecare in Bethel... I have some names for you! ;-)

Anyway, 3 years I've been living here and it was nice to finally meet many of the wonderful locals.

ok....... so she's not really!
I did a bridal Fashion session with her .....and simply put...
she was an awesome model to work with ( not to mention also an awesome friend ) .
She wore a gown from the Eve of Milady line . It wass absolutly stunning on her.
I decided to shoot at the resevoir and well.. besides a KILLER sun...... we got some killer shots.
A Beautiful model ... a Beautiful gown..... on a beautiful day.........

Melissa and her baby Belly

So...a baby girl is waiting to make her entrance into this world. In the meantime, Melissa, her beautiful mommy came to me to have this time before birth captured.
We mixed it up a little with some outdoor images and indoor shots. It was a very cold day on this hill and I caught myself several times about to complain aboutit was as I was about to have a mom bare her belly..... lol. So... I decided to suck it up and shot with my jacket off.
It's now only days before she is due and I know Melissa and her husband are very excited about their baby girls arrival...... as am I. Babies are always such blessings.

I did a modeling shoot recently for a couple of guys known to the southern Fairfield County area. We were up at the crack of dawn ( and OH MAN was THAT rough) . I am not a morning person, or a coffee drinker. I'm thinking that's going to need to change soon. Anyway..... we head to south Norwalk and the light is just bouncing off the walls everywhere. THIS PHOTOGRAPHER WAS IN HEAVEN ! ( AWWWWWWWWWW hear the angels singing?)
This shoot was a blast... and a bit rewarding I'd say..... lol
But I'll let the sneak peak .....speak for itself!
